The Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Food Services employee to support daily meal service at MAC North. This position is responsible for picking up, preparing, cooking, and serving meals, as well as maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and dining areas.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, reliability, flexibility, and a commitment to providing quality service to students and staff.

Essential Responsibilities

• Drive agency vehicles to pick up and transport daily meals; safely load and unload food and supplies.
• Follow applicable Ohio Department of Job and Family Services food service requirements and regulations.
• Set up kitchen, food service, and serving areas, including equipment, utensils, and supplies.
• Check food temperatures and ensure food is stored, prepared, and served according to established safety standards.
• Prepare or assist with preparing a variety of hot and cold foods, including meats, vegetables, beverages, salads, sandwiches, dressings, and simple baked items.
• Set up and maintain hot and cold food service lines.
• Serve meals to students and staff while following portion and presentation guidelines.
• Replenish food, utensils, dishes, trays, condiments, and other supplies as needed.
• Monitor food and equipment for quality, safety, and cleanliness and report or address concerns appropriately.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen and dining areas, including floors, pots, pans, utensils, dishes, equipment, and other work surfaces.
• Collect and dispose of garbage and trash in designated areas.
• Perform cashiering duties, as assigned.
• Provide guidance or training to other employees performing related duties, as needed.
• Maintain a professional, positive, and cooperative working relationship with students, staff, and the public.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• Holds a valid state Department of Education permit or credential appropriate for the assignment, as required.
• Meets all required health screenings and employment requirements.
• Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit employment in a public school setting.
• Demonstrates high ethical standards, integrity, dependability, and accountability.
• Complies with drug-free workplace requirements, board policies, and administrative procedures.
• Works effectively as part of a team and establishes positive professional relationships with coworkers.

Working Conditions

This position may require:

• Prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, and other physical movements.
• Lifting, carrying, and moving food, supplies, equipment, and other work-related materials.
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, wet or slippery surfaces, noise, odors, and moving equipment.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals, airborne particles, electrical equipment, and other workplace hazards.
