Norwood Elementary is seeking a Preschool Paraprofessional to support students and staff in a preschool classroom setting. This is a highly active position requiring frequent movement throughout the day and direct support of young children in academic, behavioral, and personal care needs.

 

Qualifications

• Valid Educational Aide/Paraprofessional credential or ability to obtain required certification
• Successful completion of the Parapro Assessment (or equivalent qualification)
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain certification
• Ability to lift and assist students as needed
• Ability to work effectively with young children, families, and staff

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with instructional and classroom activities
• Support students academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally
• Assist with classroom management and supervision
• Provide personal care services, including diapering, toileting, and hygiene assistance for preschool students
• Support students with daily routines and other developmental needs
• Maintain student dignity, privacy, health, and safety while providing personal care assistance
• Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
• Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher, principal, or district administration
